MAAS 2.5.0 RC2 released

MAAS 2.5.0 (RC2)

We are happy to announce the second release candidate for MAAS 2.5.0. This release includes mostly UI fixes that were blocking users.

Features

MAAS 2.5 introduces several features. Most notable ones include:

  • Proxy all communication through rack controllers
  • High Availability - Region to rack communication no longer requires VIPs
  • KVM - Networking support
  • ESXi deployment support
  • CentOS / RHEL - Storage support
  • UI - Re-designed machine listing page
  • UI - Re-designed KVM host utilization

Bug fixes

Fixes in this release include:

  • LP: #1802325 - [2.5] Stale WebSocket connections do not automatically reconnect
  • LP: #1804547 - [2.5, UI, regression] Deploy KVM host - allows deploying a machine without an operating system
  • LP: #1804549 - [2.5, UI] Deploy KVM host - If the default deployment OS is non bionic+, clicking Register as MAAS KVM host doesn’t set bionic
  • LP: #1804551 - [2.5] Event logging breaks when an IP is assigned to multiple interfaces with the same MAC
  • LP: #1804557 - [2.5] KVM installation from Web UI breaks AUTO IP address assignment

Installation

MAAS 2.5.0 RC2 is available for Ubuntu Cosmic & Bionic and can be installed from our PPA as follows:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:maas/next
sudo apt install maas
