Is it possible to use custom "vendor-data"?

Hi,

is it possible to use cloud-init’s vendor-data to systematically run a couple of scripts when someone deploys a machine?

We would like to use MaaS to deploy machines our customers are renting. Since they are providing their own “user-data” scripts, we would like to leverage the “vendor-data” capacity of cloud-init.

I found the below two questions already, but they seem to be “convoluted” ways to achieve this:

Hey Emmanuel, thanks for reaching out. This isn’t something that’s currently supported in MAAS, so unfortunately the only ways to achieve such behaviour would be through one of the two methods you’ve linked.

If this is something you’d like to see supported, then I’d recommend opening a feature request. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help!

I’ll probably open a feature request as you suggested. In the meantime, I’ll probably stick to the solution proposed here.
