There are a growing number of customers who manage their clusters, racks and hardware as resources, much like we treat vCPU and RAM on hosts.
Current MAAS (2.8) allows some basic power on/off functions via Redfish, but no other Redfish chassis endpoints are managed through MAAS.
I’m starting this discussion on behalf of a customer who is requesting how/whether/when MAAS will support querying and updating/altering the BIOS parameters on the host chasiss, via the Redfish API.
I understand this is a Feature Request with a timeline that is likely at least 1 or more releases out (12-18 months timeframe?), but I wanted to start the discussion, so I can reflect some of that back to the customer and set their own expectations.
Thanks!
