Why is MAAS creating a DNS entry for NICs?

Post deployment I end up with DNS entries like enP1p1s0f1.<machine_name.domain>.
It is annoying because it creates multiple PTR records.

Is there a way to stop this?

edit: Restarting MAAS snap fixed it. I assume this is a bug.
