Where does the the number of CPU cores come from?

Hello,

We have a machine with i7-6700K. The lshw during commissioning did not show the info of the number of available CPU cores, but MAAS can still correctly show the value on the machine profile. Is it obtained from the “20-maas-03-machine-resources” job?
