MAAS Site Manager Ready for Testing

Do you have more than one MAAS installation to take care of? Are you running your own image server to get those MAAS installations in sync and distribute custom images? Are you unsure how many machines are in a broken state in all your installations without logging into each and every one of them?

We are super excited to share that we have a solution for all those problems and a bunch of features on the roadmap to make managing multiple MAAS instances simple: MAAS Site Manager.

Key features :clipboard:

MAAS Site Manager delivers centralized visibility and control over your MAAS deployments with the following main features:

  • Site health & status overview: A central dashboard that contains an inventory of your sites and shows the high level machine availability and status across all your sites.
  • Geolocalization: Visualization of your sites on a map with extended meta-data.
  • Centralized image server: It acts as a powerful, central image hub for all your MAAS sites that can serve upstream images (e.g. from images.maas.io) including your custom images.
  • Easy enrollment: An intuitive and secure mechanism to enroll sites in MAAS Site Manager.

A sneak peek into the future :motorway:

We’re already working on features to bring even more simplicity and scale to your operations across all your sites:

  • Single Sign on: We are integrating OIDC-based SSO. Soon, you’ll gain secure, one-click access to multiple MAAS instances and MAAS Site Manager using a single username and password. (Coming to both, MAAS and MAAS Site Manager)
  • Coordinated MAAS sites configuration: MAAS Site Manager will become your single point of contact to deploy and manage diverse MAAS configurations across your entire environment.

MAAS Site Manager is ready to test

If you are ready to get started with the beta today you can grab and try the MAAS Site Manager Beta from charmhub. You can install it using terraform or follow our tutorial for manual deployment.

MAAS Site Manager Beta is compatible with the edge version of MAAS and will be fully supported from MAAS 3.8 onward.
