MAAS incompatibility with LXD >=6.7

This is a general announcement regarding known compatibility issues of MAAS with LXD >=6.7!

The following is a description of the known issue:

  • LXD 6.7 consolidates some API endpoints (see release announcement).

  • MAAS uses pylxd as a dependency to interface with LXD.

  • MAAS 3.6 and 3.7 currently use pylxd 2.3.5, and thus do not support the recent changes made in LXD 6.7 (supported with pylxd >=2.3.9).

We recommend using LXD <=6.6 or the 5.21 LTS release until further notice.
