Where can I get the complete changelog for this release?

Also, does it deprecate/disable DHCP server in favor of Kea?

Hi @reza.safiyat

I don’t think that we have a carefully crafted changelog for 3.1.1 release. Maybe Launchpad git log for 3.1 branch will help you to get a quick overview of what has been landed between 3.1.0 and 3.1.1?

Also all bugs reported via Launchpad are listed in every release (if they were fixed) on Launchpad e.g. 3.1.1

Regarding Kea DHCP: we still use dhcpd but this Sprint we would like to do as much as possible to prepare for a proper migration, and work out Kea HA deployment strategy and DHCP Relay agents.

Please join discussion around this topic, we are eager to get feedback from the community.

We are setting up a questionnaire to get some feedback, and here are some of the questions:

  1. How are you using DHCP with MAAS?

  2. Are you running your own DHCP server or are you using MAAS’s built in one?

  3. If you are running your own, which one are you using?

  4. Why are you running your own DHCP server?

  5. Do you use DHCP snippets?
-If yes, what problems are you solving with it?
-If yes, how many snippets do you have?
-If yes, would you be comfortable sharing (some of) them?

  6. If/when DHCP snippets went away how would you solve your problem differently?

  7. How do you address assigning IP addresses in IPv6 networks?
    -SLAAC (stateless autoconfig)
    -Stateful
-Stateful + O flag (client can use stateless address)
