How to make a read-only user account

I’d like to do some scripting using a dump of all the node information in MAAS. I created a new user account but it seems that the only real access control setting for an account is is_superuser. And after I created that account, it says that that account has 0 machines. I’d like to allow this new account to access the same machines as admin, and have read only privileges. Is that doable?
