The MAAS documentation doesn’t say if it’s possible to backup MAAS’ database without backing up the MAAS images. The MAAS images can be re-downloaded easily, if you’re only using unmodified Ubuntu images, at least, so I don’t see a point in backing them up.
pg_dump has the -B option to exclude blobs, which takes my backup from 2.4GB to 8MB. However, I’m not sure if MAAS would be happy if I restored such a backup.
Explaining this process (if it works !) would be a welcome addition to MAAS’ documentation :)
