EIF and Soft Raid1 deploy os failed

hello All

I have the following servers that need to be deployed using Maas:

SuperMicro SSD 128G *2 (OS)
ST4000NM0035 4TB *3 (DATA)
RAM 128G

MAAS version: 2.9.0
Image:Ubunt20.04

I need to use two supermacro SSD hard disks to create RAID1 (MD, Linux soft) and then use RAID1 to install the operating system.

My hard disk partition is as follows:

The following errors occurred when deploying the OS:

curtin.util.ProcessExecutionError: Unexpected error while running command.

Command: [‘unshare’, ‘–fork’, ‘–pid’, ‘–’, ‘chroot’, ‘/tmp/tmp897f1ei5/target’, ‘/usr/lib/grub/grub-multi-install’]
Exit code: 1
Reason: -
Stdout: ‘’
Stderr: Installing grub to /boot/efi.
Installing for x86_64-efi platform.
grub-install: warning: Internal error.
grub-install: error: failed to register the EFI boot entry: Operation not permitted.

Does anyone know how to solve it?
Thank you all for helping me!

Hi @Jerry,

you need to separate /boot/efi like that but first need to create this 500mb partitions separate from RAID1

Stefan
