I have a dedicated boot network for my lab machines. MAAS “owns” this segment and everything there works fine.
I have one machine that is currently on a different segment “corp” that I need to rebuild. I would like to use MAAS to commission and deploy it. I would prefer not to have to cable this system to be on the lab segment, although that is an option.
If I configure the DHCP server on the “corp” segment to return for “NEXT SERVER” the IP address of the MAAS server, I should be able to commission and deploy it, no? This trick has worked in the past with cobbler. But I get stuck trying to set it up. MAAS will not let me commission the machine saying the system must be connected to a reachable network.
Are there any instructions for how to accomplish this?
