About Duplicate Subnets

The MAAS server has two NICs.

However, the client has three NICs waiting for DHCP distribution.

Two of the three NICs on the client are on the same subnet. However, they are used for different purposes.

A third NIC is added to the MAAS server. However, if the two NICs on the MAAS server are configured with IP addresses on the same subnet, maas-dhcpd panics.

Can I overcome this problem by creating a VLAN on the L2 switch and separating the same subnet with a VLAN?

MAAS is wrongly allowing duplicated subnets. It’s a known bug
