The patch referenced/outlined here (and described in detail in the original thread) absolutely works for us 
We went from duplicate UUIDs on enlistment to fully-unique UUIDs, no hassle.
I sincerely hope this solution - or something like it - makes its way into MAAS officially. I’ll follow up with more details here this coming week, since the original thread is closed.
